Endocrinologists are medical doctors that specialize in diagnosing and treating health conditions related to problems with the body’s hormones, hormonal glands, and related tissues. They have specialized training in the endocrine system and can help diagnose, treat, and manage the illnesses that can arise when hormone imbalances or endocrine gland problems occur. Hormones are chemicals controlled by your endocrine glands that help coordinate and control many of your body’s activities. Hormones are involved in your growth, mood, reproduction, metabolism, and more.

When your hormones are functioning correctly, you don’t need to think about them. But with over 50 different hormones taking on complex roles in the human body, you need a specialist when problems arise. An endocrinologist can help.

Typically a referral from your primary care provider is necessary to make sure you have a medical reason to be seen in our office. Medicare, for example, requires a referral from your primary care provider. However, some insurances allow self-referral by patients to specialists. We suggest you check with your insurance company or contact our office at (909) 474-2333 to help you determine this.

Please have your primary care provider fax a referral and your relevant prior records to our office. 

You may also bring :

  • Photo ID and your insurance card
  • New patient information packet forms – a member of our team will get in touch and send you the patient intake form to fill in. This is only necessary for your first appointment and will help speed up your check-in time.
  • Any additional documents, lab results, radiology reports or documents pertinent to your case.
  • A detailed list of your medications or the actual bottles and boxes to all medications and supplements you take for the doctors to review. This is only necessary for your first appointment.
  • If you are a diabetic patient, please bring your glucometer(s) or any blood sugar logs for the doctor to review for at least 1-2 weeks.

Our goal at Inland Endocrine is to provide optimal care in a timely manner. New patient referrals are reviewed daily, and our Inland doctors try to schedule new patients based on the severity of illness as soon as their schedules allow. However, there are times when sicker or more urgent patients are seen first. Our staff tries to schedule patients as soon as possible and will try to accommodate most patients’ needs.

Your initial visit is a chance for both you and your doctor to get to know each other. The doctor will review your medical history, ask you questions, perform an exam, and then discuss with you diagnostic and treatment options for your condition. You may be asked to get blood work or other studies after the initial visit based on available information from your referring provider.

Yes, there are a number of medical conditions and hormonal disorders that can cause fatigue or weight problems. Seeing an endocrinologist may identify one of these disorders or help exclude any serious medical problems that may be causing weight gain or fatigue. In certain cases, there are medical treatments for weight gain and fatigue.

We understand that sometimes things come up, and patients need to reschedule. Please be considerate of other patients and the doctor’s time and call as soon as possible to cancel and reschedule your appointment. We often have a waiting list of patients that need to be seen and require reasonable notice to utilize these cancellation spots effectively.

We kindly request that you provide us with at least 24 hours notice before your scheduled appointment time if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This will allow us to offer the appointment time to another patient who may be in need of medical care. If you fail to provide us with at least 24 hours notice, a $50 cancellation fee will be charged to your card on file, if there is no card on file the balance will be applied to your account until settled.
